केरल में आई भीषण कारण को लेकर नया खुलासा सामने आया| पश्चिमी घाटों के संरक्षण पर ऐतिहासिक रिपोर्ट लिखने वाले लेखक ने रविवार को बताया कि राज्य सरकार और स्थानीय अधिकारियों ने पर्यावरण कानूनों का पालन किया होता तो इतनी बड़ी आपदा नहीं आती। 2010 में पर्यावरण और वन मंत्रालय द्वारा गठित पश्चिमी घाट पारिस्थितिकी विशेषज्ञ पैनल की अध्यक्षता करने वाले वैज्ञानिक माधव गाडगील ने कहा कि केरल में इस समस्या का कम से कम एक हिस्सा “मानव निर्मित” है।
