India is reportedly considering imposing safeguard measures on South Korean and Japanese steel.... to protect Indian manufacturers,... a move that may have a big impact on local steel exporters.
Citing Indian authorities, Reuters reported on Thursday.... that Korean and Japanese steel imports to India.... have sharply increased in recent months... as they try to overcome U.S. trade barriers after the Trump administration imposed 25 percent tariffs on steel imports.
Data from the Korea International Trade Association shows.... South Korean steel exports to India jumped.... 31 percent during the first half of this year from the same period last year.... to one-point-four billion U.S. dollars.
The report says,.... Japanese steel exports to India also jumped 30 percent during the second quarter from the same period last year.
