German public broadcasting stations, Berlin shed no light on BMW fueling safety crisis in Korea
  • 6 years ago
While thousands of BMWs are banned from South Korea's roads over car fire fears here, the safety crisis is NOT as recognized in the automaker's homeland Germany.
Reports have surfaced in some German economic newspapers and automobile media such as Handelsblatt, but they haven't gone into specific details.
Germany’s major public broadcasting stations, including ARD and ZDF, have pointed out that three-hundred and twenty-four thousand BMW vehicles have also been recalled over the same engine safety concerns affecting vehicles in South Korea.
The Korean embassy in Germany and Korea Trade-Invest Promotion Agency says no official government move from Berlin has been detected.
