Inter-Korean military communication line for eastern part of peninsula fully restored
  • 6 years ago
The inter-Korean military communication line on the eastern part of the Korean Peninsula has been fully restored eight years after it was cut off due to a wildfire.
South Korea's defense ministry said Wednesday the measure aims to strengthen mutual trust between the two Koreas while easing military tensions.
It also explained the complete restoration of fax and phone lines were part of the Panmunjom Declaration and June's inter-Korean general-grade military talks.
The military communication channel on the western part of the peninsula was fully restored last month.
