Mumbai: One child dies, 50-60 students hospitalised from BMC school

A student studying in a BMC-run Urdu medium school in Mumbai’s Sanjay Nagar area died today morning. 50-60 children have been admitted to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar. The possible cause behind the student’s death and ill health of children is said to be suspected poisoning through food or medicines. Dr Pradeep Jadhav, Head of peripheral hospital said, “So far, about 50 to 60 children have been brought into the hospital and more are expected to come. One child was declared brought dead to the hospital. According to information received from the doctors treating these children had stomach pain and were vomiting. They are being treated and their condition is said to be stable.”
