S&P 500 Closes With A Loss Not A New Record

According to Reuters, the S&P 500 closed with a loss on August 9th.
Earlier in the week, the S&P was on track to break a new record-high, but its growth has stalled over the last two days.
Within the closing bell already rung, the S&P lost 4-points on the day, settling at 2,853.
But that is about 20-points shy of a new all-time high for the benchmark index.
Back on Jan. 26th, the S&P closed at a record high of 2,872.
