Incessant rains caused rivers in the region to swell, urging the authorities to open the shutters of as many as 22 dams. In Malappuram, locals witnessed a rare scene in which a road got washed away after flash flood. The whole incident got captured in the camera. However, nearly 20 people died due to rain related incidents in the state.
