An infant stump-tailed macaque that was rescued by the Free the Bears Fund in Laos in June was proudly showing off all the progress she’d made in her recovery in a new video shared August 8.The rescue organization shared the video to Facebook, showing the as-yet-unnamed macaque practicing her tree-climbing and quickly recovering when she slipped and fell, jumping to safety on her handler’s shoulder.When the macaque was originally rescued, she was estimated to be around two months old, and weighed 540 grams. She also had stress-related injuries due to being separated from her mother at such a young age.“Our little rescued bear macaque (stump-tailed macaque) has been taken outside every day to learn monkey skills that she would normally learn from her mum,” wrote Free the Bears Fund. “Her coat is already turning darker and she now weighs almost 1kg.
