Malaysian aid on standby for victims of Lombok quake

Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah says that Malaysian aid for the victims of an earthquake in Lombok, Indonesia is on standby to be deployed to the scene of the disaster.

A group of Malaysian officials including officials from the Home Ministry were in Lombok, Indonesia during a Magnitude 7.0 earthquake that struck yesterday evening. According to Saifuddin, none of them were affected by the quake.

The death toll is continuing to rise from the quake that has claimed almost 100 lives.
