At the end of the pilgrim season each year, the idol or murti at the Yamunotri temple is taken down for the winter, in a small procession and as part of a seasonal migration. See women go into ecstatic trances as they see off the idol, at this small temple town at Yamunotri, with its hot sulphur springs, where people bring rice to boil and also bathe in the mixed hot and cold waters...
