An earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Lombok, located next to tourist hotspot Bali, on the night of August 5. Aftershocks as strong as magnitude-5.4 rocked the island after the initial quake. A tsunami warning was also in place. The quake caused over 90 casualties, with the death toll still rising as crew expand their rescue efforts. Many of the fatalities occured as a result of debris falling from houses that had collapsed in the earthquake, according to the BNBP, the country's national disaster mitigation agency.
