On February 6th, The Gambia launched its National Development Plan (NDP) 2018-2021. The launch event was held in the State House in Banjul, and speeches were made by the Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs; the EU Ambassador to The Gambia; the ECOWAS Ambassador; the UN Resident Coordinator; and, the President of The Gambia. You can watch the speech of EU Ambassador Lajos in the video below.

The NDP follows the motto "delivering good governance and accountability, social cohesion, and national reconciliation and a revitalized and transformed economy for the wellbeing of all Gambians". It consists of 8 strategic priorities and 7 cross-cutting critical enablers ranging from restoring good governance to modernising agriculture and fisheries.

The EU Delegation in Banjul now looks forward to further cooperating with The Gambia in achieving the ambitions of the country's National Development Plan!
