Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool 2, X-Men crossover and China ban
- 5 years ago
Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds, T.J. Miller and Ed Skrein chat to Digital Spy about the 'Merc with a Mouth's first solo movie. Reynolds teases talk of a sequel and tells us how he thinks Deadpool will mesh with the more serious tone of the X-Men movies.
Wade Wilson aka Deadpool, is an anti-hero character from the Marvel universe, who debuted in The New Mutants #98 back in 1991. Like Wolverine, he's a product of the Weapon X program and has the same mutant healing factor power that renders him virtually indestructible.
The Deadpool movie is the second big screen outing for the character, after Reynolds played a villainous incarnation in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. That film was received poorly by Deadpool fans, and the new film has sought to portray him more faithfully to the comic book version.
Deadpool is part of Fox's X-Men movie series, and a crossover with the main X-Men series looks likely in the future.
Deadpool is in cinemas from February 10 (UK)
