How to make a pea shooter in the Darjeeling Himalaya : memories from my childhood

Man makes pea shooter with Ringal bamboo in Darjeeling, India.

What wonderful memories from a childhood in the Himalaya! This man's father made pea shooters for our company director when he was a child some 35 years ago, and the same shrub-tree was used to provide ammunition for his pea shooter forays!

The pea shooter is a toy version of the blowgun or blowpipe. It is usually a tube that launches its projectiles via blowing. As the name suggests the normal ammunition is peas (usually dried), though other seeds, berries, fruits, improvised darts, or wadded up paper can also be used.
