NFU: Drought concerns are a 'wake-up call' for Government

The President of the National Farmers' Union Minette Batters and Environment Secretary Michael Gove MP gave a press conference in Westminster on Wednesday following an emergency meeting to try and mitigate the challenges brought on by this summer's heatwave. Ms Batters said that costs for farmers are "significant", and that this summer's drought had been a "real wake-up call to Government that you cannot just take food for granted". Report by Jonesia.
