The All India Muslim Personal Law Board is against Uniform Civil Code and changes in the personal laws, as is being considered by the Law Commission. The AIMPLB members met the Law Commission on the matter. The Muslim Personal Law Board is not in favour of the bill and now the Law Commisison too has put the board's concerns to rest — the AIMPLB Vice President Jalaludin Umri was heard saying the Law Commission will not touch the issue for their next 10 years. But will take other routes to initiate reforms.
