Kind-hearted builders shelter commuters with umbrellas during rain storm

This is the heart-warming moment builders helped commuters step off the bus by sheltering them with umbrellas during heavy rain.

Onlooker Winston Henf, 27, said he was expecting to be ''drenched'' after leaving the bus during a downpour in Singapore on May 28.

But the financial consultant was moved by the ''act of kindness'' from the local construction workers whom he branded ''unsung heroes''.

Winston said: ''This was a heart-warming scene that made my day.

''I went out without an umbrella. As I was reaching my house bus stop, I was prepared to be drenched in the heavy rain.

''To my surprise, I couldn't feel any rain and when I looked up, a foreign worker was holding an umbrella for me.''

Winston said the men were still helping commuters an hour later after he returned to work - performing the good deeds out of the goodness of their hearts without being employed to.

He added: '' They must have done it for the past few hours and it is really touching to see such a scene in that heavy rain.

''The construction work could have used the time to rest like most of their other friends but instead, these few brothers chose to use that time to love others, putting others interests above theirs.''
