Jimmy Buffett To Open Margaritaville-Themed Retirement Community In Florida.
Can we jump in a time machine, fast-forward to retirement age, and move in today?
Jimmy Buffett has just announced that he’s opening a chain of retirement communities called — what else? — Latitude Margaritaville. And honestly, it’s the most appropriate mash-up idea ever, because how else should you spend your golden years but with your toes in the sand and a margarita in hand?
“It’s always been that happy place in your mind, the spirit of adventure in your soul,” says the new Margaritaville website. “It’s the state of mind when it all comes together in one of life’s perfect moments. When your mind wanders to this paradise, why not follow it home?”
The first location will be located in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is available only to those ages “55 or better.” It will be located right on the beach and has every amenity you would expect in a Parrot Head paradise. Check out the developer’s photos below for a taste of the good life.
What would Margaritaville be if it was not beachfront?

As you can see from this bird’s eye view rendering, almost all those houses have a view of the blue from their backyard.
Even the main complex for the community looks like a beach bum’s paradise.
Oceanside sunset dinners? Do not mind if we do!
Perhaps a casual game of corn hole to liven things up?
And the houses themselves are exactly what you would expect from Mr. Buffett.
One press release claims that prices will range from $200,000 to $350,000. The model pictured is the Daytona Beach Breeze (what a name!).
Surely you will be able to decorate it however you like, but in keeping with the theme of the resort, consider laying out your spacious new home like this.
As you can see, the kitchens are fully stocked for anything you might need — although we can not confirm a frozen drink blender comes with each house. But you will definitely want to invest in one.
Some of the homes even come with their own pool, in case expansive beaches are not to your liking.

Although the private watering holes are not nearly as impressive as this public, tropical-themed pool.
And if this artist’s rendering is any indication, the beach by the community center is going to rival most Mexican resorts.
As if all that is not enough…

Parrot Heads will apparently be able to enjoy performances by the man himself.
Honestly, cheers to all of this.
Not a bad way to spend your golden years, huh?

Restaurants, concerts, a bunch of attractive 60-somethings for neighbors who are always down for happy hour on the beach? (It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, after all.) Jimmy Buffett and retirement life are a match made in margarita heaven!
