A major road in Chicago was backed up for miles on Friday afternoon when a small plane with two people on board was forced to make an emergency landing due to engine failure, reports CBS News.
According to WGN, the blue and yellow plane was flying back to Ohio after traveling to an air show in Wisconsin when the pilot made a mayday call to Chicago Midway International Airport citing "partial power, engine failure."
He was eventually directed to land on Lake Shore Drive, a main thoroughfare around Lake Michigan, and the plane ended up touching down onto the Southbound side without incident or injuries just after 3 p.m., notes NBC Chicago.
Traffic was able to resume within hours after the aircraft was pushed onto a nearby grassy area.
