Hello I'm Michelle Park here with the latest weather update. Today being Jungbok, traditionally one of the three hottest days of the year in Korea,... the heatwave continued to rage. And finally we have sporadic showers today and tomorrow but it won't be enough to relieve the heat.
So the scorching weather continues tomorrow here in Korea, while Tokyo is now bracing for a typhoon rather than a heatwave.
The season's 12th typhoon, Jongdari, a name chosen by North Korea, which means skylark, is expected to dissipate as it reaches the east coast of Korea's Jeju Island on Monday. If it keeps this course, the typhoon is expected to bring rain to Korea's east coast.
Until then it'll be sunny. Seoul beginning the morning at 27 degrees Celsius, Gyeongju cooler at 24.
The highs will reach the mid thirties with showers.
