Prime Minister Peter O'Neill is confident, maintaining that the country's economy is progressing well despite criticism from the Opposition.

PM O'Neill assured the Parliament today that before the year ends, the economy will be on a positive outlook.

He was responding to questions raised by Lae MP John Rosso, querying the Government's debt level, in which he said figures presented by the Shadow Minister for Treasury during Tuesday's sitting, were incorrect.
