Republican Congressmen Move to Impeach Deputy Attorney General Conservative allies of President Trump House Freedom Caucus leaders Reps. his contacts with Russia. Rosenstein signed for one of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants that allowed the surveillance. Republican allies of the President argue that the surveillance was politically motivated. Meadows and Jordan also claim the Justice Department had been stonewalling Congress in regards to several congressional subpoenas. The subpoenas are for documents related to the FBI's Hillary Clinton email investigation and the probe into Trump's team and Russia. Democrats claim that Rosenstein has been targeted by Trump allies because of his appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel. Mueller has been leading the probe The resolution to impeach Rosenstein was not privileged, which means there will be no vote on the matter. The House leaves for a monthlong retreat on Sunday, so for the time being, Rosenstein will remain the Deputy Attorney General.
