In a big push to curb corruption in the country the parliament has passed the prevention of corruption amendment bill 2018. One of the biggest takeaways from the bill is that it will have provisions of punishment for the bribe givers and bribe takers. The centre feels that the bill will provide safeguards to the officers who perform their duties honestly and will also ensure speedy trial in corruption cases.
