Trump Tweets Russia Might Try to Sway 2018 Elections for Dems The tweet comes a week after the Russia summit when Trump said he didn't see why it would have been the Russians who meddled in the
2016 election. The next day he backtracked saying he meant to say he didn't see why it wouldn't have been
the Russians. The following day, when asked by a reporter if he believes that Russia is still targeting the U.S., the President responded, "No." The White House press secretary later explained that Trump's " no" meant that he was not responding to questions. Trump offered no evidence for his claim that the Russians will attempt to help Democrats win in the 2018 elections.
