Record-breaking gathering of golden retrievers in Scottish Highlands
  • 6 years ago
Hundreds of golden retrievers swarm in the Scottish Highlands. The 361 dogs collectively created a world record of the highest number of the breed gathered together in one place.

The event was held to mark the 150th anniversary of the breed's origin. Guisachan House in Tomich, Inverness-shire, where the event was held, was the site of the golden retriever's first breeding.

"We've gone from 188 golden retrievers at the 2006 gathering, 222 in 2016, to 361 today. We've beaten our record on the big anniversary," said Chairman of the Scottish Golden Retriever Club, Doreen McGugan.

The event took place on July 18.
