More prison time has been handed down to former president Park Geun-hye.
The Seoul Central District Court sentenced her on Friday to eight years for taking backhanders from the country's intel agency and interfering in the 2016 general elections.
Park was also fined close to three million U.S. dollars.
In total, she now faces 32-years behind bars.
She already received a 24-year sentence for her role in the power abuse scandal.
In another hearing on Friday,... prosecutors demanded that 24-year sentence be lengthened to 30 and her fine increased to 104-million dollars.
The appeals court will rule on that next month.
