As the political firestorm over his summit with Putin continues, President Trump has weighed in on his country's monetary policy.
In an interview with CNBC that was broadcast on Thursday, Trump said he was unhappy about the Federal Reserve's interest rate hike amid his efforts to boost the economy.

"…..I'm not thrilled, because you know, we go up, and every time we go up, they want to raise rates again, and I don't really, uh, I am not happy about it……"

His remarks break more than 20 years of White House tradition of steering clear of comments on central bank policy and the value of the dollar.
The White House later issued a statement, saying Trump respects the Fed's independence and is not interfering with its policy decisions.
