South Korea's defense chief has expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the marines who were killed this week in a helicopter crash in eastern Korea.
In a statement on Thursday evening,... Song Young-moo also wished the other marine who was badly injured in the crash a full and speedy recovery.
He said the defense ministry will conduct a thorough investigation into the crash by forming a probe team that reflects the bereaved family members' wishes.
The MUH-1 helicopter crashed on Tuesday... moments after taking off for a test run in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, killing the five Marines and injuring the other.
