Amid Widespread Criticism, Trump Thanks Rand Paul For Siding With Him On Russia

President Trump on Tuesday thanked Rand Paul in a tweet.
In the wake of his Monday's press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Trump took to Twitter and thanked Senator Rand Paul for siding with him.
"Thank you @RandPaul, you really get it! 'The President has gone through a year and a half of totally partisan investigations - what's he supposed think?'" Trump tweeted on Tuesday.
The president's tweet came after he was widely criticized for his remarks.
Former CIA Director John Brennan characterized Trump's press conference as "treasonous." "Donald Trump's press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of 'high crimes & misdemeanors.' It was nothing short of treasonous," Brennan tweeted. "Not only were Trump's comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???" During the press conference, Trump cast doubt on the US intelligence community's findings that Russia made significant efforts to meddle in the 2016 election and appeared to accept the Russian leader's claim to the contrary. The US president commented: "I have president Putin, he just said it's not Russia. I will say this. I don't see any reason why it would be." He also cast aspersions on the FBI.
"You have groups that are wondering why the FBI never took the server," Trump said. "Why was the FBI told to leave the office of the Democratic National Committee? I've been wondering that. I've been asking that for months and months, and I've been tweeting it out and calling it out on social media. Where is the server?"
