The BBMP has not paid its Pourakarmikas since the last six months and only just has begun to release wages to its employees though allegedly not in full. It has claimed to be short on funds. However, in March this year, the BBMP splurged Rs 4 cr on buying I-pads for 198 corporators. It did his even as it withheld payments to its employees who are being pushed into a financial crisis steadily. The Pourakarmikas have objected to the misuse of money, and said that first, the wages of Pourakarmikas should have been settled.
