'Boaty McBoatface' launched on River Mersey

The vessel popularly known as Boaty McBoatface made its debut on Saturday in Liverpool. The hull of the new research ship, which is officially named Sir David Attenborough, was launched into the River Mersey where shipbuilders will get to work finishing the vessel. The launch of the hull was an important moment for the ship, whose development has been followed closely since an online campaign tried to get it named "Boaty McBoatface".
