According to Reuters, tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets of London, waving banners and banging pots to demonstrate against the US president’s first official visit to Britain.
Organizers said that 250,000 people were demonstrating in London, and many more were expected in cities around the country, including Windsor, where the President was due to have tea with Queen Elizabeth.
“Our message to our government and our prime minister is: ‘We don’t want a special relationship with bigots’”, said Len McCluskey, the head of the country’s biggest trade union.
