Peace agreement can only come after North Korea's denuclearization: U.S. State Dept.
The U.S. State Department is stressing there will be no peace treaty of any kind with North Korea before the regime's full denuclearization.
State Department Spokesperson Katina Adams told Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency on Friday that the U.S. is considering a peace agreement, rather than an end-of-war agreement,... once Pyongyang dismantles its nuclear programs.
North Korea has been pushing for declaring an end to the war, leading to a peace agreement,... once it starts taking the initial actions for denuclearization.
The South Korean government is aiming to end the war by the end of this year as agreed in the Panmunjom Declaration.
