Jeff Bezos Will Charge at Least $200K for Space Rides Bezos' rocket company, Blue Origin, will charge passengers between $200,000-$300,000 for their first trips into space next year. Potential customers and the aerospace industry have been eager to learn the cost of a ticket for the New Shepard space vehicle. The affordability and if the company can generate a profit on Space Tourism have been big questions. The New Shepard is designed to autonomously fly six passengers more than 62 miles above Earth into suborbital space. 62 miles above the Earth is high enough to experience a few minutes of weightlessness and see the curvature of the planet. The pressurized capsule then returns to earth under parachutes. Blue Origin has completed eight test flights of the vertical take-off and landing from its launch pad in Texas. None of the flights have had passengers aboard.
