U.S. Reopens Investigation Into Death Of Emmett Till, 1955

The U.S. government has reopened its investigation into the 1955 death of black teenager Emmett Till in Mississippi, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday, citing a report from the U.S. Department of Justice. The report, sent to Congress in March, said it was reopening the probe after receiving “new information” on the slaying, which helped spark the U.S. civil rights movement, the AP said. According to Reuters, The case had been closed in 2007.
