London pub rebrands itself as ‘Trump Arms’ before presidential visit

A London pub rebranded itself as the “Trump Arms” before President Donald Trump begins his visit to the UK on July 12.

In the video, Damien Smyth, the landlord of the Jameson pub in west London, explains the name change:

“There was so much negative publicity about Trump’s visit, it was just too much,” Smyth said. “It’s disgraceful with this balloon downtown. It’s not acceptable.”

“The British people and the Americans and the Irish are friends,” Smyth continued. “Nobody would like it if there was a balloon put up in Washington or New York of Theresa May or the Queen.”

“This is the only place that has put their head up,” Smyth said. “Somebody had to do it.”
