Ava DuVernay's 'Central Park Five' Adds Michael K. Williams Netflix announced the series just over a year ago. It concerns the infamous 1989 Central Park jogger case, commonly referred to as the “Central Park Five." The moniker refers to the five minority male suspects who were falsely accused, charged and convicted of the rape and assault of Trisha Meili. On Monday, the streaming giant revealed the show’s cast, headed by Michael K. Williams, Vera Farmiga and John Leguizamo. Williams will play Bobby McCray, the father of Antron McCray, one of the five men accused of assaulting Meili. The series will consist of four episodes and will focus on the five teenagers from Harlem. It will span a quarter of a century from when the boys were questioned to their exoneration in 2014.
