Eight boys of soccer team rescued from Thai cave, effort to free remaining 5 up to ‘rain god’
  • 6 years ago
A team of 90 divers have been working for the past 24 hours to rescue 12 young soccer players and their coach from a flooded cave in Thailand in a risky operation that has been disrupted by rains. A crack team of foreign divers and Thai Navy SEALS guided four boys on Sunday and a further four on Monday. They had been stranded inside the Tham Luang cave for more than two weeks. Heavy rain has struck the region intermittently over the last three days and further downpours could set back draining efforts at the cave. The ‘Wild Boars’ soccer team and their coach got trapped on June 23 when a rainy season downpour flooded the tunnels.
Authorities have said the mission could take three or four days to complete.
