LG Display tops global AMOLED display panel market for smartwatches in 2017: IHS

LG Display is leading the global AMOLED market for smartwatch display panels.
Data from market researcher I-H-S Markit shows the South Korean tech giant was the top supplier in the industry last year.
The company accounted for more than 41 percent of the global market share…or ten-point-six-four million units.
Industry watchers say its performance was backed by bumper shipments to Apple, which makes the Apple Watch.
Among the other major players was Samsung Display… making up almost 35 percent of the global market... at some nine million units.
