From the corner: We’ve told Avtandil Khurtsidze to take Tommy Langford out
  • 5 years ago
Avtandil Khurtsidze’s coaches have told him to remove Tommy Langford by TKO at the first opportunity at the Leicester Arena on Saturday night.

The two will clash for the WBO interim world middleweight title, live on BT Sport and BoxNation, with the winner the mandatory challenger to full champion Billy-Joe Saunders.

Gary Stark and Andre Rozier did most of the talking for the non-English speaking Khurtsidze during today’s final press conference.

They warned Devon-born Brummie Langford, 27, to beware of their man’s power and believe the Englishman won’t last the 12-round distance.

The 37-year-old Georgian is based in the United States and rarely has home advantage, so his corner are sending him out with no intention of going the 12-round distance.

Stark and Rozier also believe Saunders is running scared of Khurtsidze, which they told to Seconds Out video reporter Craig Birch.
