Competitors race motor-powered garden tillers in bizarre race
  • 6 years ago
Whilst most of the world is focussing on the soccer World Cup, competitors from around the world descended on the US state of Arkansas to take part in the World Championship of rototiller racing.

The Purple Hull Pea Festival in Emerson, in the south of the state, plays host to the bizarre competition where contestants perform a drag race with the farm equipment – used to break up and till soil.

Tillers with heavy modifications – such as large wheels or V6 engines – pull competitors along the dirt track.

The eventual winner of the competition was local boy Cody Fuller.

The footage was captured on July 1.
