Facebook Admits to 'Bug' That Silently Unblocked People On Monday, Facebook’s privacy boss Erin Egan apologized for the error. The bug let some users who’d been blocked send messages to the people who had blocked them. It also let some previously-blocked users view posts that were shared publicly or with friends of friends The “blocking bug” was active between May 29 and June 5. It isn’t clear when Facebook discovered the bug. Facebook acknowledged the serious consequences of a faulty blocking system, chiefly harassment or bullying.
