The land of kings, as “Rajasthan” literally means, the state is home to a host of stately mansions, imposing palaces, impressive fortresses and exquisite temples scattered all over its landscape. Some palaces are situated on hill tops, a handful on islands in the middle azure placid lakes, and others on plains in the middle of an elaborately laid out garden. A fleeting trip of the entire state leaves you with a heavy dose of bright earthen hues, large turbans, proud mustaches, shimmering anklets and herds of camels plodding on sand dunes against the backdrop of setting sun.
