Canada Retaliates With $16.6 Billion In Tariffs On American Goods

According to a report by Reuters, Canada has struck back at the Trump administration's new tariffs on steel and aluminum, vowing to impose retaliatory tariffs on 16.6 billion-dollars worth of American goods until Washington relents. Reuters reports that the announcement marks a new low in relations between the neighboring trade partners which have already been strained since President Donald Trump took power in 2017. According to the Department of Finance, the Canadian tariffs will largely target US steel and aluminum products, but will also affect other products like coffee, ketchup, and whiskey.
