Danny Ainge Announces Gordon Hayward Signing by CELTICS, Early Leak & JERSEY NUMBER

WALTHAM, Mass. -- On Friday, ten days after Gordon Hayward announced his intentions on The Players' Tribune, Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge officially announced the signing of the star wing forward as a free agent. Hayward will be getting the max four-year deal, worth $128 million to play in Boston. Hayward was not in Boston Friday but Mike Zarren traveled to Hayward's home to make it official, only after the Celtics cleared the necessary cap space to sign him. The team had to trade Avery Bradley and his $8.8 million salary to make the deal work.
