186: Stryper Religious Rock & Roll Band, Michael Sweet | Faith and Heavy Metal

The "virtual lounge" is open and Ty and Nick are privileged to welcome rock n' roll legend Michael Sweet inside for this edition of Beats and Eats.  During the show, Michael his amazing career as co-founder and front man of Stryper.  The band will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their multi-platinum album To Hell with the Devil this fall with a world tour, featuring all four original members and complete with the original yellow and black costumes.  Released in October, 1986, the GRAMMY-nominated To Hell with the Devil is the band’s third studio album and the first Christian metal album to achieve platinum status. Throughout 1987, the music videos for "Free" and "Honestly" ranked #1 on MTV’s list of most requested videos, and the video for "Calling on You" reached #2. Stryper was the first band to ever have two songs in MTV’s Top 10 simultaneously.  Ty and Nick will talk to Michael about the upcoming reunion tour as well as his just-released solo album "One Sided War."  Michael tells Ty and Nick it's his heaviest record yet.  For more information on Stryper, you can follow Michael on Twitter @michaelsweet.
