Lyft's prominent backers include Fidelity Investments, which reportedly poured $800 million into the company. Lyft's biggest competitor, Uber, has an estimated value of $62 billion. Uber has faced a slew of controversy, including allegations of 103 drivers sexually assaulting passengers. A self-driving Uber also struck and killed a pedestrian on March 18. Lyft holds 35% of the ride-sharing market in the U.S. It remains unclear when they will go public.
