Nominated members fails to register an active participation in the Parliamentary process
  • 6 years ago
The crucial parliament monsoon session will kick off from July 18 and with it there will be a major test for the opposition in the wake of elections for selecting the Rajya Sabha's Deputy Chairman. The BJP which is determined not to let the opposition win the post, has said that to shore up its numbers, the treasury benches will ensure that all four vacant seats of members nominated to the house by the President will be filled before the session begins. A list of 10-12 names is under consideration at the moment including familiar names like Madhuri Dixit and Former Cricket Captain Kapil Dev. The bigger question however is we have seen in the past how nominated members failed to register an active participation in the Parliamentary process. So, will we witness any change in the status quo in this regard and how effective is the process of nominated RS MPs.
