++CLIENTS PLEASE NOTE: THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN LOOPED++ Lava continued to spew out of Fissure 8 of Big Island's Kilauea volcano on June 23.

Kilauea has been exploding since early May, forcing mass evacuations in the area as resulting lava flows threatened homes and other structures.

This video, filmed by Leilani Estates local Marcus Madson, shows an aerial view of Fissure 8 from just above 3000 feet. He told Newsflare that lava was blistering over 100 feet into the air.

"I'm still trying to figure out how to put into words the feelings I had while looking into the boiling lava of fissure 8. It was many things - terrifying, yet awe inspiring. Solemn, yet thrilling," he said. "It was like an open wound in the earth that for some reason I almost felt guilty looking at. And yet, I couldn't look away."
