Pat Toomey is one of the few Donald Trump GOP critics on trade who is not retiring. According to Politico Toomey is pushing legislation to take back Congress’ power over trade deals. Not only that but he is also a defender of NAFTA, which Trump does not like. Toomey said: “It’s going to do and is already doing real damage so I think we’ve got a responsibility to stand up and push back.” Others such as Sen. David Perdue think it’s a bad idea to “undercut” Trump during negotiations.
